German exams, without the guesswork
prepdaf is preparation software for the German language exams — Goethe, telc and TestDaF. We turn a vague “am I ready?” into a clear, measured answer, and a plan to close the gap.
Why we exist
Most learners walk into their exam not really knowing where they stand. Prep is scattered across textbooks, random worksheets and videos — none of it scored the way the real exam is. So people over-prepare on their strengths, under-prepare on their gaps, and find out on test day. We built prepdaf to fix that: measure honestly, then aim your effort where it actually moves the result.
How we build it
Everything is anchored to the real exams, not our opinion of them:
- Tasks in the exact formats of Goethe, telc and TestDaF.
- Writing and speaking scored against the official rubrics — the same criteria a real examiner uses.
- Feedback that shows its reasoning, quote by quote — no black box.
- A placement test that gives you a level per skill, so your plan targets the right thing.
A level per skill, not one flattering headline
Reading, listening, grammar and speaking are scored separately, so the study plan starts from your real gaps.
Writing and speaking broken down by criterion
Task fulfilment, coherence, vocabulary and structure are scored the way a real examiner would score them.
Corrections tied back to your exact text
Instead of generic advice, feedback points to the sentence, quote or phrase that caused the problem.
Where it started
prepdaf started from a simple frustration: preparing for a German exam felt like studying in the dark. Plenty of material, no honest signal. We wanted a tool that would tell us the truth — where we stood, what to fix next, and how close we really were — the way a good tutor would, but available any time. That's still the whole idea.
